Watauga Firefighters Association Hosts 7th Annual Emergency Fest
A firefighter from Wilkes County’s Cricket Fire Department supervises as a young girl uses a fire hose to spray down wooden cutouts of flames on a house at Emergency Fest. The Watauga County Firefighters Association hosted the event last Saturday, June 13, in Appalachian State University’s Raley parking lot. At Emergency Fest, kids to met law enforcement, EMS and fire personnel and learned how to deal with potential emergency situations. Fire trucks, ambulances and helicopters on site were open to the public and showed attendees the many emergency resources available locally. Photo by Ken Ketchie
