World Hunger and Health Worker Mother Rytasha at Dancing Moon June 30
Mother Rytasha, a leading worker against world poverty, ill-health and hunger, will be at Dancing Moon, located at 553 West King Street, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30. Admission is free.
The public can meet her, ask questions and help her raise funds by buying her books and DVDs. The money will go to Mission Food Relief International – the Servants of Charity, a non-sectarian, non-political, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people caught in disasters.
Mother Rytasha was born into aristocracy, educated in Europe and the U.S., feted in English newspapers as one of the world’s most beautiful women and sold everything in 1985 to give to the poor. “Charity,” she says, “is love made concrete.”
“She embraces each one regardless of what you think, where you came from or what you believe,” said Bob Snead, owner of Dancing Moon. “She teaches and shows what unconditional love really is.
“At the Dancing Moon we also seek to honor all paths and we are excited to provide a space for the community to experience Mother Rytasha and her message.”
The event organizer, the Reverend Treva McLean of Banner Elk, said that when she encountered Mother Rytasha’s work she realized that “when devotion to humanity's heart opens our eyes to the…possibility to give, [we are] moved forward to true purpose.”
Since 1985, the Servants of Charity has founded 29 schools, a free clinic that sees more than 1,000 patients a month; has contributed to projects in electrification, irrigation and agriculture; has given interest-free loans, run free medical camps treating more than 45,000 people; and fed more than 300,000.
