Tickets are now on sale for the 2nd annual High Country Beer Festival. The educational event will return to the Broyhill Inn & Conference Center on Saturday, September 5.
Tickets are now on sale for the 2nd annual High Country Beer Fest. The event is slated to take place on Saturday, September 5, at the Broyhill Inn & Conference Center on the campus of ASU. Tickets are $20 in advance and can be purchased at the Broyhill, as well as at Peabody’s Wine & Beer Merchants and online by clicking to www.HCBeerFest.com.
The High Country Beer Fest is the annual celebration of quality craft beer from around the region and the world. The event will feature dozens of brews and delicious food, as well as educational seminars covering all aspects of beer, brewing and pairing food and beer.
According to event organizer Brett Taubman, this year’s event will be comparable to last year’s inaugural festivities, which featured beers from more than 50 different breweries.
“This year we’re hoping to be even bigger and better,” said Taubman.
Breweries already committed to this year’s festival include Boone Brewing Co., Foothills Brewing, Kind Beers, French Broad Brewing Co., Lonerider Brewing Company, Olde Hickory Brewer, Thomas Creek Brewing Co., Sweetwater Brewing and Oskar Blues Brewery.
In addition to moving the date up to take advantage of late summer weather (the event will be held outside weather permitting), Taubman also lowered ticket prices by several dollars to help make the event more affordable for beer connoisseurs.
Another change at this year’s event will be the addition of more knowledgeable personnel. Instead of representatives from area beer distributors, Taubman hopes representatives from the actual breweries will be on hand to talk about their creations. The ASU professor is also planning to feature more beers from the region.
“This year we’d rather have the breweries themselves,” said Taubman.
The 2nd annual High Country Beer Fest will also feature live music from Lisa Baldwin & Dave Haney, the Big Dumb Babies and more to be announced.
