Blowing Rock Frameworks & Gallery Presents Brown’s Landscapes and Still Lifes This Month
From now through Saturday, August 1, 22 recent oil paintings by Robert Brown will be featured Blowing Rock Frameworks & Gallery, located at 7539 Valley Boulevard, with an artist reception this Friday, July 17, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Admission is free.
Robert Brown was born in Anderson, S.C. in 1954. An exceptional oil painter of the plein air tradition, he brings out the rich natural colors that are exposed in the true light of the day. Painting on location allows Brown to capture the true essence of his subject matter, whether in the mountain meadows and streams of North Carolina or in the rural pasturelands of the Piedmont where he lives.
Robert received his bachelor’s degree from ASU and a master’s degree from Wake Forest University. He has also studied privately in Charlotte and Asheville, and in Philadelphia, Penn. Brown also attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts from 2002 to 2004.
Brown has worked for more than two years on the current show at Blowing Rock Frameworks. The 22 paintings are a variation of themes, from his traditional mountain landscapes to shadowed still lifes to more recent interest in European architecture. This will be Brown’s fourth show with the gallery.
