Trace Bundy—“Acoustic Ninja”—Performs at Dragonfly Friday
Dubbed the “Acoustic Ninja” by his adoring fans, award-winning acoustic guitarist Trace Bundy will make his High Country debut this Friday, July 17, at Boone’s Dragonfly Theater & Pub.Acoustic fingerstyle guitar player Trace Bundy brings his unique musical style to The Dragonfly Theater in Boone this Friday, July 17, at 9:30 p.m. Tickets cost $8 in advance and $10 at the door. This show is for ages 18 and up.
Currently a resident of Boulder, Co., Bundy was named “Most Promising New Talent” of 2008 by Acoustic Guitar Magazine, as well as winning third place in the magazine’s “Best Fingerstyle Guitarist” category the same year.
Bundy must be seen, not just heard. Listening to his intricate arrangements is one thing, but seeing the fan-dubbed “Acoustic Ninja” perform live confounds even the most accomplished musical aficionados as to how one person can do all that with just two hands and ten fingers. Bundy uses harmonics, right-hand tapping, percussion, looping, multiple capos and lightning fast picking to create a sound that is remarkably unique.
Bundy is known for his sense of humor and stage presence in addition to his musical prowess. He has sold more than 30,000 units of his albums to date on his own independent record label, Honest Ninja Music. The exponential growth of Bundy’s fan base has led to sold-out shows with standing ovations at venues across the U.S. and around the world in 16 countries and counting.
Bundy has also been an Internet sensation. Video clips of his performances have circulated virally at astonishing speeds, with more than four million views to date. Bundy’s unique interpretations of such varied works as Pachelbel’s “Canon” and Guns ‘N Roses classic “Sweet Child O’ Mine” are a testament to the innovative picker’s guitar prowess.
