Boone Police Chief Bill Post and his wife Jaehee share a laugh with Boone Mayor Loretta Clawson after joking about Post’s plans to raise chickens once he retires from the force on Friday, July 31. Clawson, Boone Town Council members and Boone Town Manager Greg Young honored Post during the Boone Town Council meeting on Thursday, July 16, with a plaque and a service weapon. “We’re really going to miss you,” said Young. “We need another Bill Post,” added Clawson. Post is retiring after more than a decade as chief and will be honored with a retirement function at the Broyhill Inn & Conference Center on Wednesday, July 29, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
