OASIS Launches Don’t Miss the Bus Fundraiser
Back to School Bash in Valle Crucis Saturday
OASIS, Inc (Opposing Abuse with Service, Information and Shelter) announces the 5th annual Don’t Miss the Bus fundraiser to collect school supplies for children of OASIS clients.
With the help of 10 local businesses, High Country residents can drop off school supplies to donate to children in the community affected by domestic violence through Monday, August 10. The participating locations are Stick Boy, Food Lion, The Children’s Playhouse, Green Mother Goods, The Wellness Center, Bare Essentials, Coyote Kitchen, Walgreens and Dollar General.
The list of school supplies needed for this coming year includes backpacks, notebooks, folders, calculators, index cards, 3-ring binders, dividers, #2 pencils, colored pencils, Clorox wipes, handheld pencil sharpeners, scissors and tissues.
On Saturday, July 25, High Country Mommies will host a Back to School Bash at Valle Crucis Community Park from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The bash will have various activities for kids of all ages, raffles, a bake sale and a donation drop box for Don’t Miss the Bus. High Country Mommies has also coordinated donation dropoff locations with local businesses.
The High Country Mom Squad and Happy Hearts Extension/Community Club are also helping out with the fundraiser by raising school supplies, helping get the word out and assisting with donation boxes.
