The Greater Avery Tour de Art Saturday

Mike Hill, owner of ArtPurveyors.com in Foscoe, reports that the first Greater Avery Tour de Art held on the fourth Saturday in June had a fantastic turnout. The Tour de Art takes place at 12 participating galleries and studios in the Foscoe, Banner Elk, Linville and greater Avery County areas.

If you missed the first one, the good news is that the Tour de Art will take place every fourth Saturday through October. The next event is this Saturday, July 25. Tour hours are 12:00 to 5:00 p.m., although some galleries will be open earlier and later.

The gallery tour will include original paintings by established and emerging artists, pottery, sculpture, fine art reproductions, framing, lighting and more. Various galleries may also feature refreshments, special sales and other activities.

A map of the entire tour is available at each location, and yellow directional signs will help guide gallery tourists along the 105, 184, 194 and 221 highways. Additionally, some area restaurants and businesses will offer special discounts to Tour de Art participants. For more information about the Tour de Art, call 828-963-7246.
