28th Annual Crafts On The Green at Beech Mountain Saturday
Fred’s General Mercantile will host the 28th annual Crafts On The Green this Saturday, August 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free.
For the 28th consecutive year, dozens of the region’s finest crafters will gather their wares and head for Beech Mountain as Fred’s General Mercantile hosts the annual Crafts On The Green this Saturday, August 1. The event will last from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free.
“It’s always a good time and it’s a great opportunity for people to come and enjoy the nice cool weather,” said Bernie Knepka, business manager at Fred’s General Mercantile.
According to Knepka, the work of 70 craftspeople will be on hand at Saturday’s event. Items on hand will include fine jewelry, wood turnings, photography, paintings, bird houses, metal works, pottery, clothing and much more.
In addition to the vast array of fine arts and crafts, attendees will be treated to live original music by award-winning area bluegrass group Diana & Sarvis Ridge. Magician Rick Ramseur will also be on hand to astonish and amaze those in attendance with his many magic tricks.
Bratwursts and hot dogs will be hot off the grill throughout the day and summertime delights such as homemade ice cream and lemonade will also be available for purchase.
