Blue Ridge Community Theatre Presents Twinderella August 14 and 15

Blue Ridge Community Theatre, in collaboration with Andrea McDonough State Farm Agency, presents Twinderella, the Musical by Charlie Lovett at Watauga High School auditorium on Friday and Saturday, August 14 and 15, at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets will be available at the door and are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under. Amy Wilson Beane is the show’s director, and Kathleen Rowell produces the show.
Twinderella reveals the story of Bob, Cinderella’s long-lost twin brother. Living in the same kingdom with different wicked stepfamilies, Cinderella’s cruel stepmother and evil stepsisters make her rotate tires and polish bowling trophies, while Bob’s evil stepfather and cruel stepbrothers force him to make dried herb wreaths and organize their sock drawers. When Lou the UPS guy arrives with invitations from the Kingdom of Wychwood-under-Ooze, Cinderella and Bob are both thrilled, but their families forbid them from attending the festivities. With the help of the Fairy Godmother, the Godfather, two enchanted gerbils and a lot of luck, however, they find a way to get there.
The cast of 37 varies in age from about 6 years old to adult, said Freda Smith, treasurer of the Blue Ridge Community Theatre.
“It’s a very wide range of people,” Smith said.
The play features Laura McKinney as Cinderella, Robert Clayton as Bob, Andrea McDonough and Mara Edwards as the evil stepmothers, Ricky Burns as the Godfather, Cristal Gutierrez as the Fairy Godmother, Dana Landress-Calloway as Princess Petunia and Cameron Greene as Prince Percy.
