High Country Sports Show at Boone National Guard Armory August 29
Dexter Jackson collector cards will be given out to WECR, WKSK and WATA listeners during the week before the August 29 High Country Sports Show.
Past are the days of printed profiles on pasteboard traded from shoeboxes carefully stored under the bed, with cards being traded over bubblegum and bed-spreads, the business of sports memorabilia has grown up to be become big business.
Local interest in sports and related memorabilia is a booming business in Boone as Boone’s hometown team—ASU football—climbed the ranks of collegiate sports bringing with it a recharged interest in the seeking, finding, swapping and selling of all forms of sports memorabilia.
Addressing this need, the High Country Sports Show will take place at the Boone National Guard Armory on Saturday, August 29, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The show will be an all-day event, peppered with hourly door prizes and all attendees will be given a free pack of cards with the purchase of a $2 admission ticket. Children under 10 are admitted free.
With local radio stations, WECR, WKSK and WATA, there will be chance to win Dexter Jackson autographed cards. Listen the week before the event for more information about how to win.
The High Country Sports Show will host a number of items ranging in variety from sports cards, collectibles, shirts, NASCAR items, memorabilia and goodies from both contemporary sports stars from those who found fame in the past.
