Back for a second year with hopes to continue building a local tradition of gathering the community annually at Horn in the West on Labor Day Weekend, the 2nd annual Daniel Boone Days Music & Culture Festival will take place on Friday and Saturday, September 4 and 5.
Following several months of uncertainty, the Watauga County Farmers’ Market has been guaranteed full access to the Horn in the West parking lot during market times for the next 2.5 years.
Paragliders take to the air during the 4th annual Tater Hill Open, a paragliding and hang gliding competition that took place from Sunday, July 26, to Saturday, August 1.

The View
Stroll along the winding path of Newland’s Riverwalk Park on Saturday, August 15, to find arts and crafts from about 60 vendors—at booths positioned neatly between trees and lampposts. The annual Riverwalk Arts Festival takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is presented by the Avery Arts Council.
The monthly Downtown Boone Art Crawl takes place on Friday, August 7. Receptions at several downtown art galleries begin around 6:00 p.m. and continue throughout the evening.
The Downtown Boone Development Association (DBDA) will once again support music during its monthly Art Crawl this Friday, August 7, as it hosts the latest edition of Art Crawl Presents at Boone Saloon, located at 489 West King Street in downtown Boone, from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
