Sugar Grove resident Nicole Tesh won Honorable Mention in Our State magazine’s third annual Reader Photo Contest in the Black and White category with her photograph—“Flag in the Wind.”
Tesh’s photograph is featured in the August issue of Our State, along with 20 other winners.
“We had more than 2,300 entries in our third annual Our State Reader Photo Contest, and the entries confirmed what we already knew—which is, our readers have a tremendous passion for the state of North Carolina,” said Elizabeth Hudson, editor of Our State.
Currently celebrating its 76th year in publication, Our State boasts more than half a million readers across the state.
Captivating scenic photography has long been one of the hallmarks of Our State, the state’s only travel, history and culture publication. The categories of the Reader Photo Contest reflect the magazine’s content: Landscapes, Black and White, People, Places and Animals.
“It was a treat to view all the submissions,” said Hudson. “The judges had some very difficult choices to make.” Our State staff and art directing team judged the contest.
To view all the winning Our State photographs, pick up the August issue of the magazine. The magazine is sold on newsstands throughout the state or can be ordered by clicking to www.ourstate.com.
