Banner Elk Fine Arts & Master Craft Festival August 22 and 23
The Banner Elk Fine Arts & Master Craft Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday, August 22 and 23, at Banner Elk Elementary School. The show is free and open to the public and runs from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 on Sunday.
According to the Avery Chamber website, “Artists participating will have watercolors; sculptures in stone, clay, bronze and copper; exquisite pottery and jewelry; some magnificent hand-crafted furniture featuring wood, inlaid stone, or stained glass; hand-woven clothing; hand-crafted leather; clay figurines and much more for sale. The prices range from trinkets for under $20 to some items ranging into the thousands.”
All the items available are juried and are of extremely high quality, the website added. About 80 local and internationally trained artists will be represented at the show.
Several have work in private collections, the White House, the Smithsonian and homes in the High Country, said Susan Freeman of the Avery County Chamber of Commerce in a July interview.
