English as a Second Language Begins August 17

The Avery Campus of Mayland Community College will offer three free English classes to those learning English as a second language. All programs are presented by Mayland Community College. Mayland Community College is located at 758 Cranberry Street, Highway 194 in Newland, before the Ingles store. For more information, call 828-765-5894.
El Avery Campus de la Universidad Communidad Mayland (Mayland Community College) ofrecen tres clases, todos gratis, a las personas que están aprendiendo inglés como segundo idioma. Todos los programas son presentados por Mayland Community College. Class One
Clase Uno
If you need help learning English, come to a free class at the Avery Campus of Mayland Community College. Learn how to communicate in the community with doctors, teachers, employers and when shopping; how to make phone calls; how to fill out applications; how to understand your employer; useful phrases for work, types of work, pay and absences. You will receive a certificate upon completion of the course. The classes are held every Monday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and begin Monday, August 17.

Le enseñamos a comunicarse en la comunidad con doctores, maestros, empleadores y vendedores; como entender información por teléfono; como llenar sus formas de aplicaciones; como entender a sus empleadores: frases útiles para el empleo, tipos de trabajo, pago y ausencias. Recibirá un certificado después del clase. Las clases empiezan el 17 de augusto, de 6:00 hasta 9:00 p.m. y reunen todos los lunes.

Study English with the Crossroads Café program if you don’t have time to attend regular classes to learn English. The benefits are that you can study at home, set your own schedule, watch fun videos, speak with the teacher by phone or email and meet with the teacher once a week. All materials will be provided. Once a week, bring your homework to discuss with the teacher. Improve your English with videos. Student Orientation will be held Wednesday, August 19, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., and the class meets on Wednesdays.
Estudie Inglés con Crossroads Café. ¿No tiene el tiempo a asistir las clases regulares para aprender inglés? Tal vez esta clase le ayudará. Los beneficios son que puede estudiar en la casa, puede hacer el horario, mira los videos divertidos, habla con la maestra por teléfono o email y se reune con la maestra una vez a la semana. Le damos todos los materials. Solamente una vez a la semana, trae la tarea y discute con la maestra. Mejore su inglés con videos. Orientación para los estudiantes será el miércoles, el 19 de agosto, desde 6:00 hasta 9:00 p.m., y el clase se reune todos los miércoles.

A class on citizenship and civic education will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The class begins Tuesday, August 18, and includes information about the process to obtain citizenship in the U.S. You will learn how to fill out necessary forms, the system of government, civic responsibilities and the requirements for a citizenship application. You will receive a certificate when you complete the course. Class materials will be provided. The class is for adults over 18 years and there is no childcare at Mayland.
Un clase sobre ciudadanía y educación cívico reune desde 12:30 hasta 2:30 p.m. cada martes y jueves. El clase empieza el martes, el 18 de agosto y incluye información sobre el proceso para obtener ciudadanía en los EE.UU. Aprendará como llenar formas necessarias, el sistema del gobierno, responsabilidades cívicas y los necesidades para una aplicación ciudadanía. Recibirá un certificado después del clase. Le damos todos los materials. El clase es para adultos que tienen mas de 18 años y no hay cuidado para niños en Mayland.
