Annual “Mini” Book Sale August 27 to 29
The annual August Mini-Sale, sponsored by Friends of the Library, will be held at the Watauga County Public Library this Thursday to Saturday, August 27 to 29. The sale will run from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Book categories include hardback and paperback fiction, biographies, politics, psychology, health and medical topics, philosophy, religion, crafts, gardening, art, regional interest and coffee table books. Most paperbacks will sell for 50 cents, and most hardbacks cost $1.
A highlight of this year’s sale is an eclectic collection of old books—some rare—that will be available at bargain prices.
The August Mini-Sale offers a total of 2,000 to 3,000 books, while the big sale in February displays around 10,000 books, said Claire Olander, president of Friends of the Library.
All proceeds from the book sales benefit the library.
