Hayes School of Music This Week

Jazz, orchestra and a concert in memory of an ASU music student are on the Hayes School of Music performance calendar in the week ahead.

Jessica Earley Memorial Concert Friday
The members of Sigma Alpha Iota will present the Jessica Ruth Earley Memorial Concert this Friday, September 18, at 8:00 p.m. in Rosen Concert Hall. Admission is free.
Sigma Alpha Iota is an international music fraternity for women founded June 12, 1903. Earley was a member of the ASU chapter who died of complications because of a blood clot. The fraternity has established a scholarship in memory of Earley.
Michael Bellar and AS-IS String Trio September 21
Keyboardist Michael Bellar will present the AS-IS String Trio in the Recital Hall on Monday, September 21, at 8:00 p.m. Admission is free.
Bellar is a North Carolina native and founder of the AS-IS Ensemble, a jazz group that served as the house band at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City and has performed at the Lincoln Center and Kennedy Center. Bellar has toured and/or recorded with Art Garfunkel, Howie Day, Wheatus, Teddy Geiger, Jump Little Children, Billy Mann, Italian pop superstar Giorgia and world music vocalist Phillip Hamilton.
Appalachian Philharmonia September 24
The Appalachian Philharmonia (formerly the Appalachian Chamber Orchestra) will perform a concert on Thursday, September 24, at 8:00 p.m. in Rosen Concert Hall.
The Appalachian Philharmonia is the Hayes School of Music’s premiere student/faculty ensemble and is open for participation by invitation only.
