Free Global Opportunities Conference at Broyhill Inn October 9

AIESEC Appalachian, in partnership with ASU’s Center for Entrepreneurship, will host the 2nd annual High Country Global Opportunities Conference on Friday, October 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center. Admission is free and the general public is welcome to attend.
The 2nd annual High Country Global Opportunities Conference will take place on Friday, October 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center and is free for all participants, although registration is required by clicking to www.2009goc.com.
Under the conference theme of “Exploring New Frontiers When Times are Tough,” four panels will cover the topics of the international job market, international environmental sustainability, opportunities in Africa and international financial investments.
Participants will be able to attend two of the four panel discussions, as well as the opening keynote speech by Jean Davis, director of International Trade for the North Carolina Department of Commerce, and a luncheon session.
Speakers include Jeannine B. Scott, senior vice president of Africare; Frank Gentry, vice president of human resources at Commscope; Ron Jarvis, senior vice president for environmental innovation at Home Depot; Alex Ayalew, president of Joint International Business Group, LLC; and Ron Reighter, vice president of global trade solutions at SunTrust Bank, amongst many other reputable names.
The conference is organized by AIESEC (Association Internationale des Estudiants en Sciences Economiques et Commerciales) Appalachian in partnership with ASU’s Center for Entrepreneurship.
While AIESEC is a student-run organization within the ASU Walker College of Business, the conference is open to anyone of any age interested in the topics presented.
“It’s not a business conference,” said Sarah Green, founder of AIESEC Appalachian and project manager for the conference, “and it’s for anyone of any background.”
