Lees-McRae Homecoming Friday to Sunday

Tying in with the Autumn at Oz celebration on Beech Mountain this weekend and the 70th anniversary of the MGM film The Wizard of Oz, the 2009 Homecoming theme at Lees-McRae College is “There’s No Place Like Lees-McRae.”
Homecoming weekend events are scheduled throughout the campus this Friday to Sunday, October 2 to 4.
A Homecoming pep rally and bonfire will take place at Dickerson Athletics Complex at 8:00 p.m. this Friday, October 2. The annual Homecoming Parade takes place on Main Street in Banner Elk this Saturday, October 3, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Later on Saturday, the Homecoming Court presentation will take place at Tate Field in between the women’s and men’s soccer games at 3:45 p.m. The last of Saturday’s events, the Homecoming Dance, begins at 10:00 p.m. at the Arthur Student Recreation Complex.
In addition, the Lees-McRae College classes of 1959, 1979, 1984, 1989 and 1999 will hold class reunions throughout the weekend.
