Spokesdog Contest Winner Announced
The Watauga Humane Society is pleased to announce that the winner of their recent online Spokesdog Contest is L’il Joe, the beloved pet of Mona Hawasly and Lynn Smith of Beech Mountain. L’il Joe, now a 6-year-old female, was homeless and wandering with her puppies when she was picked up by Animal Control. The day before she was to be euthanized, A.R.N.I (Animal Rescue Need and Intervention) saved the dog, and shortly thereafter, Mona, who was anticipating the death of her 15-year-old dog Joe, adopted her and named her “L’il Joe.”
As the Spokesdog Contest winner, L’il Joe will represent the Watauga Humane Society’s Adopt-A-Dog Month, promoting a discounted adoption fee for any dog or puppy at the shelter throughout the month of October.
