Expect Delays on Highway 421 East Saturday Night and Sunday
According to NCDOT Assistant Resident Engineer Ed Treadaway, the contractor in charge of the Highway 421 widening project informed NCDOT this week that it plans to install another underground conduit system across Highway 421 in front of the Toyota Dealership this weekend.
The contractor plans to begin work at approximately 10:00 p.m. this Saturday, October 10, and work through the night until roughly noon on Sunday, October 11. During construction hours, only one lane of traffic will be open in each direction on Highway 421, and no left turns will be allowed onto New Market Boulevard. Police officers will be present to help with traffic control.
