Autumn Landscapes at Carlton Gallery

These landscapes by Holt McLean and Egi Antonaccio are part of the 27th Autumn Exhibition at the Carlton Gallery.Autumn landscapes by Kevin Beck, Roy Nichols, Egi Antonaccio and Holt McLean make the 27th Autumn Exhibition at Carlton Gallery visually engaging and exciting.
Local artist Kevin Beck is known for his paintings in oils and pastels that capture in minute detail the beauty and diversity of the landscape. Beck’s oil painting titled “Red Gate” brings a feeling of nostalgia to those who have witnessed the hiking trails in the High Country. Beck’s “Harvest Glow” features a striking capture of light that allows the viewer to feel like a part of the painting.
The serene landscapes of Roy Nichols capture a piece of the environment and allow the viewer to have her or his own unique interpretation. Nichol’s freedom of technique and color palette reflects his gentle nature as the soft edges exemplify peacefulness. He enjoys painting on location, where he feels part of the surroundings, and his locations range from the coast to the mountains. Nichol’s oils on canvas are in many public and private collections across the nation.
Egi Antonaccio is a realistic impressionist artist whose paintings reflect his high regard for mountain vistas. His technique is light and delicate, with each painting evoking feelings of strength and wonderment. Antonaccio’s painting style ranges from very controlled and detailed to contemporary landscapes rendered with a pallet knife in bright, bold colors.
Holt McLean is a new artist to Carlton Gallery whose imaginative landscapes fill the gallery with autumn color. McLean realized when she was in her freshman year in high school and received the National Gold Key Scholastic Art Award that art would be her life’s pursuit. She earned a bachelor’s degree in fine art from ASU and worked for a few years in California, and then she enrolled at the International School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture in Umbria, Italy.
“I want my artwork to pull people in and make them feel what they see is familiar. I want them to connect with the piece every time they walk by it,” Holt said. McLean’s work can be found in galleries throughout the Southeast.
