Parishioners Host Groundbreaking for New First Presbyterian Church in Boone
On October 4, approximately 200 members and friends of First Presbyterian Church of Boone hosted a groundbreaking ceremony at the future 12-acre site of their new church, located on Big Valley Drive off Deerfield Road in Boone.
After church members of all ages shared their vision for how the new building will better facilitate God’s love to the people of the local community, special guests grabbed shovels and posed while Becca Eggers Gryder and Aaron Burelson provided background music. Prior to the ceremony, Building Committee Chair Anna Lehman (pictured alone holding shovel) presented First Presbyterian Church Pastor Dr. Ron Bowie with a commemorative gold shovel in recognition of his 16 years of leadership leading up to construction of the new building.
