Register Now for Turkey Trot 5K November 21
Lees-McRae College Campus Recreation will again host the annual Turkey Trot 5K, taking place this year on Saturday, November 21, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lees-McRae College Williams Gymnasium in Banner Elk. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m.
The 5K (3.1-mile) racecourse travels along both paved road and trails. Anyone is welcome to participate regardless of age or experience. The winner of the race will receive a Thanksgiving turkey. The entry fee is $10 if you preregister and $20 on the day of the race.
This year, all funds raised during the race will be donated to the Alonzo Clark Memorial Scholarship Fund. Alonzo Clark passed away two weeks ago after sustaining deadly injuries to his brain.
“He was a track athlete, Campus Recreation employee and a terrific student,” said Danielle Usedom, director of Campus Recreation.
