Watauga County Historical Society Hosts Reception for The Architectural History of Watauga County, North Carolina at Jones House Friday

The Watauga County Historical Society recently published a book, The Architectural History of Watauga County, North Carolina, based upon state surveys ranging back 30 years to the present. This Friday, October 23, the public is invited to attend a reception at the Jones House in downtown Boone from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. to meet many of the people involved in the project and to purchase copies of the book for autographing.
The original writers of the project’s text; the book’s editor, J. Daniel Pezzoni; and Historical Society members have pushed for almost three years to see the work finished. This volume features more than 600 illustrations, in color and black and white, with written descriptions of some 300 properties, and is accompanied by a fascinating essay providing an overview and description of our county’s architectural heritage.
