High Country Blue Star Mothers Meet Sunday
A meeting for military mothers will be held this Sunday, November 8, at 2:00 p.m. at the National Guard Amory, located at 274 Hunting Hills Lane in Boone. Mothers of military sons or daughters in any branch of service who live in Watauga, Ashe or Avery county are invited to attend and be involved in this exciting new group to support military family members who serve the nation so valiantly.
The purpose of Sunday’s meeting is to discuss the chartering of a High Country chapter of the National Organization of Blue Star Mothers. The group organizes activities to support both the families and those serving in the military, and each chapter determines the specifics of the activities. Activities include mailing cards, letters and packages to area service men and women, as well as being a support group for mothers who have sons and/or daughters in the military.
