Boone Florist Moves to West King Street, Hosts Ribbon Cutting

Boone Mayor Loretta Clawson (center) and Boone’s First Dog, Midge, helped cut the ribbon during a celebration on Friday, November 20, to announce the relocation of Boone Florist to 740 West King Street in downtown Boone, across from the fire station. Boone Florist Owner Leah Rudell (left) moved her 8-year-old business to West King Street in June after her former location was demolished as part of the Highway 421 widening project.
Boone Florist is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 or 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and by appointment on Saturday and Sunday. The business has always offered flower delivery to all parts of Watauga County, which is carried out by a team of ASU students, such as Michelle Traynor (right). Free delivery is offered to ASU, funeral homes and Watauga Medical Center, and a nominal delivery fee is charged for all other orders.
Stop by Boone Florist in December when Rudell will display her collection of custom-made jewelry known as Designs by Leah. During the display, Rudell’s creations will be discounted by 30 to 50 percent, which will make frugal-yet-discerning Christmas shoppers happy.
