Beginning at 8:00 p.m. this Friday, November 27, Pepper’s Restaurant and Bar welcomes North Carolina native Matt Walsh to its stage. Walsh will be bringing the blues with him, so you can leave yours behind and focus on a phenomenal show.
Admission to the show is free, lasts until 11:00 p.m. and takes place in Pepper’s bar.
Even though Walsh is only 30, his sound has made quite an impression on the music scene. The music can be described as nothing short of an intimate journey through combinations of rockabilly, blues and rock.
Influences for his music have come from artist and bands like Robert NightHawk, Howlin' Wolf, Willie Johnson, T- Bone Walker, BB King and, of course, Muddy Waters. Listeners will find all of these and more rooted in Walsh’s old school, 1950s Southside Chicago blues style.
With all the melded sounds Walsh can offer, there is one thing his fans know he can keep real—traditional blues. Many accolades have been given to the young singer/songwriter in regards to his successful efforts in keeping traditional blues alive for the younger generation.
Walsh is well known for his raw, distorted guitar sounds and soulful vocals. Energy on stage is one thing this young artist is in no short supply of. With his wailing guitar and vocals to match, Walsh commands the microphone and raises even the toughest critic’s brow with his boisterous stage presence.
Pepper’s Restaurant and Bar is located at 240 Shadowline Drive in the Shoppes at Shadowline in Boone.
