Where Hospitality Meets History
Valle Crucis Fireside Tour December 6
The 4th annual Valle Crucis Fireside Tour will take place from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 6. The cost of the 12-stop, self-guided tour is $10 per person, and tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day of the event at the Original Mast Store in Valle Crucis.
The tour offers “a great way to get into the holiday and Christmas spirit,” said Sheri Moretz, community relations manager for the Mast Store and a volunteer with the Valle Crucis Co-op.
At each of the 12 historic buildings, attendees can ask questions about the history of the building. Some proprietors offer refreshments, some will lead a general tour and others will allow participants to meander at will, Moretz said.
All proceeds benefit the Valle Crucis Community Park, and the fireside tour is truly a community effort, Moretz said.
“River and Earth Adventures and Dutch Creek Trails will be sharing space with one of our bed and breakfasts,” Moretz said. “All the businesses that participate in the Valle Crucis Co-op will have some exposure.”
Valle Crucis Community Park board members and volunteers will also help out with the event, she added.
Advance tickets sold will indicate where the ticket holder should start the tour, in an effort to keep attendees spread out among tour stops, Moretz said.
Tickets can be purchased with cash or checks made payable to Valle Crucis Community Park.
