Special Flu Clinics in Watauga County
The Appalachian District Health Department will host special flu vaccine clinics on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 15 and 16, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. both days at the Watauga County Health Department.
Both the seasonal flu and H1N1 flu vaccines will be available. Previously, persons had to be in a priority group category to receive the H1N1 vaccine, but persons of any age over six months can now receive the H1N1 vaccine.
There is no charge for the H1N1 vaccine, and no charge for the seasonal flu vaccine for children through the age of 18.
Adults over the age of 18 can receive the seasonal flu vaccine for $33.
The health department does accept Medicare, Medicaid, Humana or Health Choice insurance.
