Body of Missing Seven Devils Woman Found
Discovery Ends Month-Long Search for Schermerhorn; Information Sought on Husband’s Whereabouts
The body of Deana Elizabeth Schermerhorn was positively identified on Tuesday, December 15, in the Seven Devils area.
The body of Deana Elizabeth Schermerhorn, who was last seen by family members on November 8 at her residence in Seven Devils, was positively identified on Tuesday, December 15, in the Seven Devils area. Schermerhorn’s cause of death is unknown at this time and is currently pending an autopsy. Watauga County Crimestoppers and local authorities request the public’s assistance in identifying the person responsible for the crime.
Schermerhorn’s husband, Christopher Warren Meade, is wanted for questioning. Meade may be driving a maroon 1999 Oldsmobile Bravada four-door SUV, North Carolina registration No. YXR4449. Meade is described as being about 26 years of age and approximately 5-feet, 7-inches tall, with brown hair, brown eyes and possible facial hair. Meade has contacts in Watauga and Caldwell counties and in eastern Tennessee and Bristol, Va.
