Looking for a Night Out? Try Your Luck at Trivia
Trivia Nights Popping Up at Multiple Boone Bars
Boone bars, such as Geno’s Sports Bar, pictured here, are finding new popularity in hosting trivia nights. Currently, four bars in Boone offer the evening activity.
When you first walk into the dimly lit bar, you immediately notice the clusters of people huddled together. They’re frantically writing and whispering to each other, taking sips of their drinks and sneaking peeks at the other groups surrounding them. Suddenly, a shout comes from the front of the bar, “Pencils down!,” and the whispering is replaced with the yelling and commotion of people in serious competition mode. Congratulations, you have just entered the world of trivia.
Trivia nights have become very popular around the Boone area in the last few years. Many bars such as Char and Geno’s Sports Bar have jumped on board with the trivia craze and dedicated certain nights of the week as their official Trivia Nights.
“Trivia night at Geno’s has been popular since we started hosting it on Monday nights earlier this year. It is definitely worth coming to check out, but get there early because there is rarely an empty table by 7:45. I believe the reason it is so popular is due to the teams actually winning prizes that are worthwhile, such as free food and pitchers of beer. Christian, the announcer, always makes the night very fun and entertaining while also maintaining a professional atmosphere,” said Tyler Edwards, a bartender at Geno’s Sports Bar.
