Thank You, Armanti
Edwards Leaves Significant Legacy at ASU
Armanti Edwards ends his college athletic career as one of the most decorated players in ASU football history. Edwards became the first athlete to win the Walter Payton Award twice on December 17.During his four years as the Mountaineers quarterback, Armanti Edwards has given ASU football fans plenty to cheer about. Now that the Greenwood, S.C. native has graduated, it’s only fitting that we say ‘thank you.’
For making Saturdays must-see events in Kidd Brewer Stadium, silencing the Big House and keeping Boone in the national spotlight, thanks.
For the two national titles, the back-to-back Payton Awards, the four Southern Conference titles, the 64 school records and the 14 Southern Conference records, thanks.
For the ESPN-worthy highlight plays, the spin moves and stiff arms, the long spirals and short crossing throws, thanks.
For being a humble leader who gets it done on the field and in the classroom, showing others the way to be a student-athlete, thanks.
For taking us all on enjoyable rides along with you and your teammates throughout fall afternoons and evenings for four years, thanks.
We’ve had fun. We hope that you did, too.
