Murphy’s Boone Tour 2010 Beginning Friday
Returning to a familiar stage on Friday and Saturday, January 29 and 30, Corduroy Road, an Athens, Ga.-based band, comes back to Murphy’s for two nights back to back.
This Friday, January 22, Murphy’s presents RootSoul Project, which is a band from Wilmington that is known for its commanding vocals.
John Rush, Murphy’s music promoter, is at it again and he has his goals set, priorities arranged and responsibilities fulfilled—it’s party-time at Murphy’s in downtown Boone.
The Boone Tour 2010 is a non-stop lineup of talented, young artists from Boone and surrounding areas. All shows start at 10:00 p.m.
The line-up begins this Friday, January 22, with RootSoul Project, which is a band from Wilmington that is known for its commanding vocals. This band is said to be a cross of Ray LaMontagne with Ray Charles.
This Saturday, January 23, GC/DC returns to Murphy’s with MC Fudd and Shorty from Tater, and they intend on putting a little bluegrass and rock and roll together to see what happens.

“Don’t miss seeing these guys while you still can. Corduroy Road is already being played on satellite radio. This will be the next band to go from Murphy’s to the big time,” said Rush.
Velvet Truckstop returns on February 5 to kick off the 2010 High Country Heroes Music Series. This band played formerly under the name Rufus Grove Boonies.
On Saturday, February 6, a local hip-hop act 2nd Revolution takes the stage to change the pace a little with its upbeat lyrics and beats.
On the following weekend, another great number of artists grace Murphy’s stage with their talents. On Friday, February 12, Tequila at Dawn, another local act, brings its psychedelic blues jam show to the stage with plenty of energy for those in need.
On Saturday, February 13, Living Art, Lincoln Masters and Ashley Heath take the stage for a night sure to be packed with musical memories.
Changing the pace a little, on February 19, Murphy’s welcomes a little reggae to the stage with the arrival of Chalwa, an Ashville band with Jamaican roots and sounds.
To close out the month’s festivities, Upright and Breathing and Overstrung Reunion play for a crowd of Boone bluegrass fanatics on Friday, February 26.
Last but not least, on Saturday, February 27, Wiseapple, an Ashville band, with its bluegrass twang and Americana rock ends the month with a bang.
