Wanna Play Concerts on the Lawn?
Request Deadline Is February 12
The annual Concerts on the Lawn music series at the Jones House on King Street in Boone features artists of many styles, including bluegrass, folk, blues, old-time, jazz, Americana, country, Celtic, singer-songwriter and more.The Watauga Arts Council is now accepting requests from musicians wishing to perform in this summer’s Concerts on the Lawn series at the Jones House Community Center on King Street in Boone.
Any artist interested in inclusion in the series should contact Mark Freed at the Arts Council. Groups who have not performed in the last two years should provide Freed with a CD and any information about their performances/music. The deadline for entering a request to perform is Friday, February 12.
“I am anticipating an exciting summer, with some new festivities in the works and lots of good music,” Freed said. “We will be hosting concerts every Friday starting on June 4 and continuing into September.”
The Arts Council is also seeking sponsors for this year’s series. Single-concert and season-long sponsorships are available. For more information about becoming a sponsor, contact Freed.
The Arts Council will update its website and Facebook page with more information about the 2010 Concerts on the Lawn series as it becomes available.
