Feature Photos: TWO MONTHS of SNOW!
~ Dec. 18 to Feb. 18 ~

As of this Thursday, February 18, snow has been on the ground in the High Country for two straight months, hardly relenting since it first buried the region on December 18, 2009. In fact, the High Country has seen measurable snow and/or ice on the last nine out of 11 weekends, boosting season snow totals to above 70 inches in Boone and above 100 inches on Beech Mountain, according to RaysWeather.com. With no end in sight to the inclement weather, cabin fever is currently ruling the roost within many High Country homes. To read what other residents have done while snowed in, check out this week’s The View.
