Benefit Event For Charlie Hart Saturday
Illustration by Kelly Snider Over the Thanksgiving holiday, beloved musician and community member Charlie Hart had a heart attack. He is in good health now and back at work, but he and his family are facing some major medical bills as he doesn’t have health insurance to cover his hospital costs.
This Saturday, February 27, the community will host a benefit for Hart and his family to help raise money for some of his medical bills. The event takes place at the Valle Crucis Elementary School cafeteria (located at 2998 Broadstone Road) starting at 6:00 p.m.
The benefit features music by Rick Ward; The Sheets Family Band; Kirby, Welch and Stone; The Corklickers; The Laurel Creek String Band; Andy Cahan and friends; and more. Dinner will be served, and supporters can also participate in a cakewalk and silent auction of fine arts and crafts. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
You can also send contributions payable to the Charles W. Hart Benefit Fund addressed to Attn: Amy Church, High Country Bank, New Market Center, 149 Jefferson Highway, Boone, NC 28607.
