Celebrate Family Scrapbook Workshop at Watauga Library February 28
This Sunday, February 28, the nonprofit organization Karma Krew invites community members to the Watauga Public Library to create a family scrapbook. All materials will be provided free of charge. Who do you call family? Family can be your blood relations, friends, pets, clubs, teams and coworkers—or all of the aforementioned and more. This Sunday, February 28, beginning at 12:30 p.m., the nonprofit organization Karma Krew invites the public to the Watauga County Public Library to create a scrapbook of whoever or whatever family means to you. All materials will be provided at no cost to create the memories you want. Bring your own photos, or the Karma Krew gang will take some for you and print them, so that you can include those images in your keepsake scrapbook.
Participants are invited to stay as long as they like and also to join a free yoga class that is family friendly beginning at 2:00 p.m. What does yoga have to do with scrapbooking? If you are part of the Karma Krew family, everything. Karma Krew is a service inspired nonprofit organization with a mission to expand the practice of yoga beyond the walls of the studios and into the heart of the communities. A national organization, Karma Krew is locally a part of the Neighborhood Yoga family based in Boone, their mantra being, “Do Good Things” and the group commits to “selfless service,” also a key phrase and action on their agenda. In that spirit, Karma Krew performs monthly service projects and this month the project is to celebrate family.
“Greater than any other influence in our lives, it is our family structure that gives us roots and wings,” said a spokesperson for the group.
