Snowboarding Champ Meg Pugh at App Ski Mountain This Weekend
Nationally ranked snowboarder Meg Pugh will share her knowledge of the sport at Appalachian Ski Mountain this weekend.National snowboarding competitor and coach Meg Pugh will visit Appalachian Ski Mountain this Saturday and Sunday, February 27 and 28, appearing at the Ladies Park Night on Saturday and the Shred for the Cup Rail Jam on Sunday.
Ladies Park Night begins at 7:00 p.m. Saturday. The event, open to ladies only, takes place at the resort’s App Terrain Park, where features will be designed specifically for learning and progression. Pugh will help coach the girls and women at the event. Registration for the Shred for the Cup Rail Jam, a competition series for snowboarders and skiers, takes place from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. Sunday, with the event starting shortly afterward.
“We’re looking forward to having her around to help us out,” said Drew Stanley, director of App Terrain Park, in a February 11 article in High Country Press.
Pugh is a nationally ranked snowboarder based in Lake Tahoe, Calif., who made the switch from skis to a snowboard at the age of 19. Pugh made her first appearance at nationals the same year and later became USASA Halfpipe National Champion.
She has traveled throughout the United States and other countries, winning and placing in competitions, competing in the X Games, founding a resort snowboard team, coaching summer camps and designing and producing professional products for the sport.
“I am really excited about the all-women’s park event at Appalachian Ski Mountain,” Pugh said in an email. “I can’t wait to check out all the features and pump up the local ladies.”
