Banner Elk Concerts in the Park—Thursday
Presented by the Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce, the final concert in the Summer Concerts in the Park series takes place this Thursday, September 2, at 6:30 p.m. at Tate-Evans Park off of Highway 194. Food vendors will be on site, or bring your own picnic.
The final concert will feature bluegrass band The Harris Brothers, who were originally scheduled to play August 5 but were rained out.
Reggie and Ryan Harris were born into a musical family in Caldwell County in the foothills of Western North Carolina and have been picking and singing since they were small children. They most often perform with just an acoustic guitar, a bass, a suitcase used as a kick drum and lead and harmony vocals, but they have been known to throw in a fiddle, banjo or electric guitar now and again. Todd General Store—Friday

Concerts on the Lawn—Friday and September 10
Watauga Arts Council’s Concerts on the Lawn series takes place every Friday at the Jones House in downtown Boone beginning at 5:00 p.m. This Friday, September 3, start off your Art Crawl evening with performances by the Dashboard Hula Boys and Kirby, Welch and Stone. Next Friday, September 10, enjoy old-time music by the Zephyr Lightning Bolts and Whitetop Mountaineers. For info, call 828-264-1789.
Music in the Valle—Friday and September 10
The Music in the Valle concert series continues at Valle Crucis Community Park at 7:00 p.m. every Friday through September 10. Performing this Friday, September 3, is popular local fiddle trio the Forget-Me-Nots, and the season’s final concert will feature energetic bluegrass act Surefire on Friday, September 10.

Blowing Rock Concerts in the Park—September 12
Several free concerts take place at Memorial Park in Blowing Rock this summer as part of the 24th annual Concerts in the Park series, presented by the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce. Concerts begin at 4:00 p.m.
