Kidfest at Grandfather Mountain Saturday
Grandfather Mountain dedicates a day to kids this Saturday, September 11.On Saturday, September 11, Grandfather Mountain will celebrate Kidfest, a day designed to get kids excited about the nature and culture of the North Carolina Mountains through fun and entertaining activities.
The park is open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and admission is $15 for ages 13 to adult, $13 for seniors, $7 for kids 4 to 12 and free for kids under 4. Below is a schedule of events for Kidfest. For more information, call 828-733-2013 or click to www.grandfather.com.

All day Naturalist Table by Keith Mastin of Western NC Nature Center in the Nature Museum Lobby will be available throughout the day
9:00 a.m. Guided hike at the Woods Walk trail with Naturalist Katie Gray
10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Story time and craft lead by Watauga Public Library
11:00 a.m. Birds of the Blue Ridge live demonstration in the Nature Museum Auditorium
11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Face painting at the Fudge Shop
12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Nature crafts at the Nature Museum Lobby
1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Storyteller Glenn Bolick in the Nature Museum auditorium
3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Stationed Habitats staff on hand in habitat area to answer questions
3:30 p.m. "Quick Frozen Critters" at the Woods Walk trail—a tag-style game that teaches about the challenges our animal friends must overcome to survive in the woods
